This historic regatta

is a rowing race that takes place in the first Sunday of September along the Grand Canal. It is a unique opportunity to get a close view of the “voga alla veneta”, a unique sport that has been practiced in the Venetian lagoon for thousands of years.

The competition

sees the city’s gondoliers and other expert rowers come face to face in a trial of strength and skills. The race starts in front of Giardini, just a few minutes from the hotel.
